Innovate for Sustainable Accelerating Systems
Join us for the first-ever workshop on Ferro-Electric Fast Reactive Tuners (FE-FRTs), taking place at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) on November 13–14, 2024.

Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) is pleased to announce that it will host the first-ever workshop dedicated to Ferro-Electric Fast Reactive Tuners (FE-FRTs) on November 13–14. The Indico page for the workshop is already available here, with further details to be added in the coming weeks.
FE-FRTs are an exciting new technology—ultra-fast cavity tuners that can dynamically adjust cavity frequency without mechanical deformation. Their potential applications are vast, with the possibility of dramatically reducing RF power requirements in some cases by an order of magnitude or more. As interest in FE-FRTs grows, this workshop will serve as a crucial forum for researchers to exchange ideas, present findings, and explore future developments.
The workshop reflects the growing momentum in FE-FRT research—an area where the EU-funded ISAS collaboration has already had a significant impact. ISAS has not only advanced FE-FRT technology but has also helped spark new research programs in laboratories around the world. Many participants in the workshop have been influenced by or are directly involved in ISAS, highlighting its role as a catalyst for innovation in accelerator technology. At the time of writing, researchers from eight institutions across the globe have already confirmed their participation, and we look forward to welcoming many more.
We encourage all researchers interested in FE-FRTs and their applications to join us for this exciting event. Register now and be part of the future of accelerator technology!
